The 9th of October is a local holiday on the Costa Blanca as it commemorates the conquest of Valencia in 1238 by King James I, liberating it from Muslim rule.

To commemorate this date, Valencian Community cities fill their streets with activities and events.

In Valencia different events are also planned from October 1 to 9 such as local food tasting, guided tours, doors opening, concerts, processions, exhibitions, readings, music, dancing and Valencian songs, Moors and Christians, correfocs, fireworks and medieval market.
