Rhodes has become one of the main disclosing of classical music in the world, thanks to its tours and concerts in all kinds of festivals and halls, and several documentaries about his figure filmed with the complicity of British television channels
“In my concerts I talk about the pieces I play, I tell why I chose them, what importance they have for me and in what context they were composed”.
That’s how James Rhodes explains it in the prologue to his first book, “Instrumental. Memorias de música, medicina y locura” (7th edition, more than 100,000 copies sold), with which he has obtained an enormous and unexpected success all over the world.
In addition to playing and contextualizing the works he performs, the British pianist also tells on stage, among pieces of Bach, Chopin or Rachmaninov, the story of his life and how music has helped him overcome the many obstacles he has encountered along the way.
