I Festival de Carnaval ‘Ciudad de Torrevieja – Costa Blanca’
The event starts this Friday, 10 August from 6:00 p.m and includes a concert by the three finalists of the 2018 Cádiz carnival group official contest ‘Coro, Comparsa and Chirigota’.
These carnival groups, the best in their categories, will, for the first time bring the Andalusian spark and grace to Torrevieja with their theatrical and musical performances, much admired and celebrated throughout Spain. A way to envisage how the Carnival is lived in the streets of Cádiz.
The event will feature the performance of the Luis Rivero choir with its ‘Vive, Sueña, Canta’, the band Juan Carlos Aragón with its ‘Los Mafiosos’ show, and a performance of ‘Chirigota de Vera Luque’, ‘No tengo el Congo para farolillos’.
Around 80 people will perform in these three groups, 12 in the Chirigota, 18 in the band and between 40 and 50 in the Choir.
The main show begins at 9:00 p.m., but the Festival starts at 6:00 p.m. with the participation of local groups and various activities.
