Discover the Santa Barbara Castle, one of Alicante’s many hidden treasures.

The fortress, one of the city’s emblems, is at the top of Mount Benacantil with views over the whole of Alicante’s bay. It is considered one of Spain’s greatest medieval fortresses, dating back to the end of the 9th century. Visits are organised in a one-way route.

It can take up to two hours to cover the monumental complex and exterior spaces known as the Revellín del Bon Repós and the Baluarte de Santa Ana. For the time being, exhibition rooms, lifts and car parks are closed. Book in advance to reserve your place!
