El museo se encuentra situado en el interior de la más importante almazara del municipio de Alcalalí. La almazara cerró su actividad en 1998 pero tanto el edificio, como la maquinaría y los enseres de su interior fueron rehabilitados para convertirse en museo.

Los visitantes podrán conocer el proceso de transformación de la uva y la aceituna en vino y aceite a través de folletos explicativos en diversos idiomas (valenciano, castellano, inglés y alemán) y podrán ver las máquinas con las que se trabajaba, como la báscula, la prensadora y la gronza.

This small but interesting museum is located inside Alcalali’s most important oil mill, closed in 1998. The building, machinery and other equipment were then restored to become a museum.

A good way for visitors to learn how to transform grapes and olives into wine and oil and see how the traditional machines worked. The museum provides leaflets in Valencian, Spanish, English and German.

Earth trades and goods fair, on from 22 to 23 February, ends an intense month full of events called ‘Alcalalí in bloom’. Called so as it coincides with the time of the year the almonds are in full bloom.

The post Alcalalí celebrates its ‘Feria de Oficios y Productos de la Tierra’ (Earth trades and goods fair) appeared first on COSTA BLANCA UP.

“Tot Vall de Pop 2018” is on from 1 to 9 December. Different towns from this valley located in the Marina Alta de Alicante will take part.

Vall de Pop comprises the municipalities of Benigembla, Murla, Parcent and Alcalalí, where the valley opens up and the municipalities of Xaló, Llíber, Senija and Benissa, nearer the coast.

This is the tenth year this event takes place and it will have a complete programme of activities, promoting local food, wine and the area.

Gastronomy
Food from this area is authentic and includes local sausages, rice broths and traditional stews. Local restaurants will offer special menus during the days of the event.
There will also be a special market on called Mercat de la Terra de Xaló, dedicated to local sausages.

Wines
The three main bodegas in the area (Xaló, Parcent and Gutiérrrez de la Vega) will open their doors offering visitors guided tours and tastings.

Countryside
There will be two guided routes through Alcalalí and the Pla de Petracos.
