Visit this exhibition that recalls the fundamental role of women and girls in science. It will be open to the public from 3 February to 3 April at the Casa de Cultura in l’Alfàs del Pi.

The exhibition “Invisible Scientists” is part of the celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. This commemoration aims to increase interest in science, favoring the development of scientific vocations among young people and stimulate a change in attitude regarding the equality of men and women in science.

The exhibition aims to contribute to recovering and recognizing the work of women scientists throughout history and up to the present day. Contains the biography of various important female scientists, some known and some unknown. All of them applied creativity and innovation to their lives and professions, overcoming the obstacles that limited them to thus contribute to the social and economic development of our society.

This is the IX edition of this International motorbike event. It takes place on Sunday 1 September at the ‘Parque de los Eucaliptos’ (park) in front of the Albir beach , Alfaz del Pi (Alicante).

Over a thousand motorbikes are expected, most of them from the legendary firm Harley Davidson. Many more bikers and fans will join filling El Albir with an unmistakable biker atmosphere.

Concerts, merchandising stands, barbecues and other activities have also been foreseen.

Although figures were the second best in the last ten years, they went down over three points compared to last year.

According to hotel management data (Hosbec), the data for 2018 reflect an average occupancy of 78%, similar to 2017 and in both cases well above occupancy of previous years.

This slight decrease was the same for all categories of hotels in almost all localities. As in previous years, Finestrat had the highest occupancy rate, followed by Calpe and Alfaz del Pi.

By months, February, November and December were the ones that increased the most, revealing a tendency to visit the Costa Blanca as a winter tourist destination too

The country of origin of most visitors was Spain with 56.6% and a growth of 0.9%. The United Kingdom maintains second place with 14.5% of the market, but falling by 0.7%. The rest of the main country of origins to visit Spain continue previous year trends in decreasing order: Norway, Belgium, Holland, France, Germany, Sweden, Poland, Italy and Russia.
