Discover the most charming corners of Teulada and Moraira this summer with a guided tour.

These pleasant and educational tours take place on Thursdays and Fridays from 9 July to 11 September. Visitors have two options to choose from:

• “Moraira: Historias del mar” (Stories of the Sea): A tour of Moraira where you will discover its most charming corners whilst listening to its seafaring stories. (Departure from Sort de Moraira Square, Thursdays at 20:00).
• “Teulada: Historias de un predicador” (Stories of a Preacher): This tour takes visitors through the streets of the old town of Teulada. It is a dramatised tour in Spanish that teaches about the town’s history in a very entertaining way (Departure from Teulada Town Hall Square, Fridays at 20:00).

This traditional festival, held in Teulada for more than 30 years, starts on 31 August and ends on 1 September.

The festival is held to pay tribute to Muscatel grapes, produced in the Marina Alta region, and takes place once all grapes have been picked and sent to off to national markets.

All programmed events are free, open to the public with activities such as Muscatel wine tasting, dances, competitions and children activities.

Open until 28 October, find this unique exhibition ‘Especias, el universo del sabor’ (Spices, a world of flavours) at the Auditorio Teulada-Moraria.

Senses will be awakened as visitors discover the cosmetic and medicinal value of culinary herbs and spices and how then can transform food flavours, colours and aromas.

The exhibition occupies 300 m2 including six sections with explanatory panels surrounded by plants and ready-to-use spices.

• Wednesday to saturday, from 11:00 to 13:00 and from 18:00 to 20:00.

The municipality has two population centers: one in the interior, Teulada, and Moraira on the coast.

While the urbanizations dominate much of the landscape, the area retains interesting values, not only natural but heritage, such as the numerous watchtowers, among which stands out the well-known Castillo de Moraira or the most loneliest and photogenic Torre Vigia de Cap d’Or.

The occupation of the area in past times has its best representation in the Cova de la Cendra (ash), also located in Cap d’Or. It shows that our ancestors, like us, were already strongly attracted by the imposing landscape: the cave was occupied from the year 6000 until the year 1500 before our era, so the cave is of vital importance for know what the Costa Blanca was in Prehistory.

While the landscape and quiet mark the character of most of the coves and beaches selected, what attracts here, what really fascinates in this small cove and its environment is the atmosphere: an atmosphere of calm in which a true tower of Babel of numerous nationalities that find in this cove and in the well-tended and decorated terraces, an ideal place for that pending conversation, that confession and the expression of multiple feelings … The cove is protected practically to the four winds and therefore the waters doze generally calm and insinuating.

The imposing Torre de Cap d’Or is witness to the human wanderings below and its insignificance is silenced by the huge and ever powerful sea. Nearby other wilder and indomitable coves can please those who avoid the agglomerations and look for a piece of loneliness and intimate contact with nature.

From Moraira and for those who have their own boat – although there is also the possibility of hiring this service to local companies – the crossings along the nearby cliff coast are a great alternative being this privileged sector in steep and beautiful landscapes. The end of Moraira, Morro del Tamarit or Cala Llebeig are geographical landmarks to recognize in our marine journey if we follow the coast to the north.

There are also many restaurants where we can get into Mediterranean and international cuisine to complete the enjoyment of our senses.
