This event takes place every Saturday morning in Jalón. With a food market next to the traditional antiques market, one of the oldest and most visited of its kind on the Costa Blanca.

At the lively food market visitors can find a wide range of local products such as wine, jam, sweets, cheese, fruit, vegetables and meat products.

The flea market next to it is in turn an antique lover paradise with plenty of stalls specializing in stamps, coins or banknotes much to the delight of collectors and the curious alike.

On 26 September La Vall del Pop area inaugurates the wine season with a night harvest in Xalò (Alicante).

Due to intense heat night-time harvesting used to be a frequent activity in wine-growing regions. This was also a way to guarantee that the grapes were kept at an adequate temperature before being crushed.

The activity starts at 20:00 at the Riko Xalò bodega. A budding oenologist will accompany participants to a vineyard to harvest the grapes. Afterwards, back at the bodega, back to basics with barefoot grape treading.

To wrap up the evening there will be a traditional sausage menu served with other typical local products. All washed down with local valley wine.

“Tot Vall de Pop 2018” is on from 1 to 9 December. Different towns from this valley located in the Marina Alta de Alicante will take part.

Vall de Pop comprises the municipalities of Benigembla, Murla, Parcent and Alcalalí, where the valley opens up and the municipalities of Xaló, Llíber, Senija and Benissa, nearer the coast.

This is the tenth year this event takes place and it will have a complete programme of activities, promoting local food, wine and the area.

Gastronomy
Food from this area is authentic and includes local sausages, rice broths and traditional stews. Local restaurants will offer special menus during the days of the event.
There will also be a special market on called Mercat de la Terra de Xaló, dedicated to local sausages.

Wines
The three main bodegas in the area (Xaló, Parcent and Gutiérrrez de la Vega) will open their doors offering visitors guided tours and tastings.

Countryside
There will be two guided routes through Alcalalí and the Pla de Petracos.
