Xabia’s International Jazz Festival is back in August
The Jazz International Festival of Xabia, which this year celebrates its 18th edition, brings to its stage the most important figures of jazz
Xàbia Jazz will take place from 4 to 6 August. The concerts will be held at the Plaza de la Constitución at 10:30 p.m.
For three days, fans can enjoy the open air jazz and musical styles related to it, such as blues, soul, bossa nova or funk.
The festival will open on Saturday, August 4, with a double concert. The first part will be starring the renowned Chicago saxophonist, Frank Catalano. The second part will be borne by the Ximo Tébar Band, a band led by the renowned Valencian guitarist and who present their work “Alma & United”.
Sunday 5 will be the turn of the BVR Flamenco Big Band, a fusion of flamenco and jazz, accompanied by the dances of Karen Lugo, a Mexican dancer who has acted in the movie “Flamenco Flamenco”, by Carlos Saura and as the prima ballerina of the show “El duende y el reloj”.
On Monday 6 the festival will close, with a concert by Cyrille Aimeé, one of the most important voices of the current jazz scene.
