From July 12 to August 26, the exhibition ‘Miguel Hernández, a plena luz’ can be visited at the Museo Arqueológico y de Historia de Elche (MAHE)

Miguel Hernández is the epicenter of the content of this exhibition framed in the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the death of the poet.

The exhibition includes half a hundred original pieces of the poet’s legacy, among which are manuscripts, letters, editions of books and other personal objects, as well as numerous photographs.

The exhibition is organized into ten big thematic blocks around the Alicante poet, which are childhood, religion, ideology, love, eroticism, literature, war, prison, death and resistance.

Through large printed photographs, “Miguel Hernández, a plena luz” makes a visual journey in which the figure of the poet is present in each of the episodes, to reach an end that is the result of all these stages together.

The exhibition highlights a section that is intended to recall the relationship that the figure of the poet from Orihuela has maintained with the city of Elche. It also reflects the importance that different musicians have given to their verses, which is accompanied by screenings in which you can see artists such as Víctor Manuel, Miguel Ríos or Sole Giménez.

Once this exhibition in Elche is closed, the exhibition will travel to several international venues such as Dublin, Manchester, New York, Chicago, Manila, Toulouse or Paris, hand in hand with the Instituto Cervantes.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Sundays and holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
