This is the fifth edition of these beautiful walking routes perfect for enjoying nature and getting to know the environment of Ibi.

The routes are free of charge and, once again, participants can set themselves the challenge of completing them all, thus completing the card that will be given to each attendee and which they must carry on each route to certify their attendance.

All the routes will start from the Biodiversity Museum on the Saturdays indicated at 9:00.

The routes proposed for this year 2022 are as follows:

Thrilling car race ‘Subida a Les Revoltes d’Ibi’ in Ibi (Alicante) this weekend.

On 23 and 24 October Ibi, known as the ‘town of toys’ as many toy manufacturers are traditionally based there, will be at the centre of Spain’s motor racing enthusiasts attention this weekend.

This almost five km long race, which is valid for the Spanish Mountain Cup, will be over 50 participating teams.

The race starts in the town itself following the road that connects Ibi with Alcoy and Banyeres (CV-801).

Open until October 17, find this unique exhibition ‘Especias, el universo del sabor’ (Spices, a world of flavours) at the Museo de la Biodiversidad in Ibi.

Senses will be awakened as visitors discover the cosmetic and medicinal value of culinary herbs and spices and how then can transform food flavours, colours and aromas.

The exhibition occupies 300 m2 including six sections with explanatory panels surrounded by plants and ready-to-use spices.

On December 28 this unique festivity takes places, in which a group of insurgents ‘els enfarinats’ dressed in bizarre costumes and covered in flour symbolically take over the city for a day submitting it to their capricious will.

Once ‘els enfarinats’ have taken over the town they collect donations from local shops, to be used for charitable purposes, and impose the absurd absolute rule that none can walk on the paths or roads nor in the sunlight or the shade.

Thousands of kilos of flour and talcum powder, hundreds of dozens of eggs, and hundreds of rockets and firecrackers is the ammunition used by the ‘els enfarinats’ to confront their opponents in a carnival and mocking atmosphere.

Visitors can watch the spectacle from the top of the church square taking home an incredible memory of one of Ibi’s most emblematic traditions with more than 200 year old.

Join the second edition of this entertaining event this Sunday 17 November as from 11.00 in Ibi’s Polideportivo Municipal (Alicante).

Due to last year’s success, ‘Ibi, Villa del Juguete’ (Town of Toys), celebrates this puzzle competition again and offers prizes for the top three participants in each category (adults in pairs and children individually).

All participants may keep the competition puzzle they use and there will be raffles with prizes for both adults and children alike.

All proceeds will go to the Association Somriu.

The market, which takes place on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October, will be held near the Museo del Juguete (Toy Museum) in Ibi.

This is the fourth edition of this event bringing exhibitors from different parts of Spain together. Offering professionals, collectors and the general public alike the opportunity to buy/see antique toys (prior to 1980).

The toy museum will also be open and offer free entrance over the weekend including a new exhibition dedicated to Madrid’s ‘Hospital del Juguete’ (toy hospital). A tribute to the work and history of this toy-repairing institution founded in 1952.

The videogame museum, located in the Alicante town of Ibi, can be visited on Saturdays from June 15.

The museum was created with the aim of preserving and disclosing video games as an integral part of contemporary culture, highlighting the large number of arcade machines present, authentic jewels of the 70s, 80s and 90s, restored and preserved in perfect condition.

The museum has four permanent exhibitions (Arcade, Pinballs, Retroinformática and Retroconsolas) as well as temporary exhibitions, thematic collections, talks and arcade-themed courses.

In addition, the entrance includes free play in the arcade machines for all ages.
