This photographic exhibition will remain open from 28 September to 28 January, 2024 in the Sala El Club of the Museum of the University of Alicante (MUA).

“Mare Lucidum” is a sample of the biological, plastic and symbolic beauty that the Mediterranean Sea still houses and a chronicle of some of the problems that suffocate it.

The exhibition compiles some of the photographs that have directed and built the career of its author for almost three decades in which he has dedicated all areas of his life to the dissemination of the natural, human and economic values linked to the sea.

Ángel Fitor (Alicante, 1973) is a photographer, photojournalist, professional diver and naturalist specialized in the marine environment. His photographic work has illustrated countless international publications. His images have been recognized on multiple occasions by the most important international nature photography contests.

Visit the exhibition that reflects the main milestones in the life of the most outstanding Alicante artist of the 20th century. The exhibition can be seen until 22 July in the Sala Arcadi Blasco of the Museum of the University of Alicante (MUA).

The exhibition “The Light of Sempere. Centenary 1923-2023” opens on the occasion of the celebration of the centenary of the birth of the artist from Onil with a selection of 26 works together with documents, photographs and publications on Eusebio Sempere.

Thus, the selected pieces show a journey through the events and cities that marked the life of this universal Alicante-born artist: Onil and his family; Valencia and the San Carlos School of Fine Arts; Paris and contemporaneity; Madrid, the return to Spain; the experience of the Calculus Centre; Cuenca and the Museum of Abstract Art; Alicante and public recognition; Sempere and the UA.

The protagonists of this exhibition are the classic “clicks”, part of childhood memories for many! The exhibition has over 5 000 of these figures, characterized and set in different periods.

This collection was created by a group of friends, lovers of history and modeling, who have been collecting Playmobil for over thirty years.

The exhibition (free admision) will be organised in four areas: Arctic and Antarctic poles, Jurassic Park, the British Royal Navy and the Bavarian Alps.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 7 December to 31 January in the basement of San Vicente’s Town Hall.

The protagonists of this exhibition are the classic “clicks”, part of childhood memories for many! The exhibition has over 5 000 of these figures, characterized and set in different periods.

This collection was created by a group of friends, lovers of history and modeling, who have been collecting Playmobil for over thirty years.

The exhibition will be organised in four areas: ancient Rome, ‘The Thousand and One Nights’, agricultural life and work in the fields, and St. Vincent (patron saint of the town) with a representation of the patron saint’s festival and Moors and Christians.

The twenty-fourth edition of this cycling event takes place from 25 to 27 September and will cover several locations in Alicante.

This is the most representative stage race in the province and one of the most outstanding at regional and national level. The best cycling teams in the elite U-23 category, the previous stage to professional cycling, participate.

In this edition, the competition will have three stages:

• La Nucía Sports City – Canelobre Caves (Busot).
• Chronoescalada: Callosa de Segura – Paraje de la Pilarica.
• Callosa de Segura – San Vicente del Raspeig.

San Vicente del Raspeig will return to medieval times from 9 to 13 October.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a whole range of crafts and gastronomy with dozens of stands that will be distributed along the second stretch of the Avenida de la Libertad and the Plaza de Santa Faz.

The music performances and recreations of the period will take place in the most unexpected way among the visiting public. In addition, children and their families will be able to enjoy the ‘children’s corner’ where they will find medieval games.

In this 10th edition, ‘Circarte’ continues with the aim to impulse and promote contemporary circus to the general public.

This year ‘Circarte 2019’ programme features thirty shows from twenty five local, national and international companies who will travel and perform a variety of disciplines.

This edition offers activities such as the ‘Gran Gala de Circo’, where different companies will join forces, the ‘Gala temática Circarte 2019 En Femenino’, composed only of women, or ‘in Tarsi’, a show of great artistic and technical quality that won various awards.

Also, parallel activities are scheduled such as round tables, meetings, exhibitions, screenings or a ‘Family Circus’ workshop.
