This is the second edition of this culinary event and it will take place 7 February to 13 March in different local restaurants of Denia.

On these dates 5 restaurants join the initiative by offering menus with ‘spoon dishes’, a Spanish way of refering to traditional Spanish tasty, hearty home made food such as stews or casseroles.

Each establishment will offer its own menu, including starters, main ‘spoon’ course, dessert and drink.

Visit the sculpture exhibition of the German artist Hans Some and get to know his work. It will be open until 5 March 2022 at the Cultural Hall La ñ in Denia.

In this exhibition the author presents us with a series of sculptures of high artistic value made of iron, steel and bronze that captivate the public by the juxtaposition of their different structures, which makes them defy gravity and seem to move.

Hans Some is internationally renowned for his metal sculptures. His works have won numerous awards and he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in both Germany and Spain, and his work can be found in numerous public and private collections in both countries.

Take one of the healthy routes and sensory walks through natural spots in Denia and its surroundings.

The routes of the “Respira Natura” programme aim to promote physical and heath and emotional wellbeing through contact with the closest nature: the greenway, beaches, parks, promenades and agricultural areas.

The level of all the walks is easy and anyone in normal health can participate.

The walks, scheduled during the months of October, November and December, take place on Thursday mornings and are limited to groups of 12 people, so prior registration is required, which can be formalised by sending an email to deniaviva@ayto-denia.es.

The Museum of the Sea of Denia is a new museum space that has more than 400 archaeological and ethnological pieces related to the sea, which will show the visitors a look at the history of the city and its link with the sea: navigation, trade, activities, events and feats.

It has an audiovisual area that presents, in addition to audiovisual resources, thematic exhibitions on fishing, seafaring traditions, devotions and the progress of underwater archaeological research.

It is an accessible establishment with free entrance. Group visits must be booked in advance.

The exhibition of the ‘Alicantino’ artist is open to the public until 15 of August at the Casa de Cultura of Denia

Visitors will find a selection of 35 of the most significant works of this multifaceted artist, from all periods and creative facets, as well as on the themes of love, sex, death, social injustice or fantasy.

In the exhibition you will find paintings, drawings, engravings and five sculptures, including one of the writer Miguel Hernández, but also others by Arcadi Blasco, Salvador Soria and one of his wife, which also hides his own self-portrait.

The town of Denia in Alicante is launching this free leisure programme aimed at families, which will take place from October 2020 to June 2021.

There are around 30 varied proposals, with music, dance and theatre performances, film projections, guided tours and outings to natural areas in Denia and the region.

Activities will be carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations at all times. The capacity of all the activities is limited so visitors must book their place in advance.

‘Fallas’ are a festival characterised by gunpowder and fire, these take place in Denia (Alicante) from 14 to 19 March.

See the imposing Fallas monuments (made of cardboard and wood), traditionally themed with satirical jabs at current affairs, and experience the town’s festive atmosphere.

The main acts of the festival are the ‘plantá’ (placing of the monuments), the ‘mascletàs’ (firing of rockets and firecrackers) and the ‘cremà’ (burning of the falla monuments). However, visitors shouldn’t miss out on other festive acts such as firework displays, parades and flower offerings.
